Greetings, All, and welcome to my website. This little slice of the internet is going to be dedicated to my works of fiction (or at least, my planned works of fiction).
I guess it would be more accurate to say that this is more of an experiment than anything. The ‘experiment’ being to explore the process of creating and “publishing” a work (or perhaps even two) of original fiction, (hopefully) having said work be read by the best in the way of strangers that only the intarwebz can provide and then finally, see if my fragile ego can take all of the soul crushing criticism that comes with turning any brainchild loose into the wild.
Along the way, I hope to learn something about writing. Lots of somethings, actually. In fact, the ultimate goal of this project is to become the best writer that I can be and eventually write a story that many people enjoy.
The key word being many. Why many, you ask? Because the statistician in me says that that’s the only real way to know if a story is any good. Friends and family, bless their hearts, can’t be trusted. Some may give some serious feedback, but most, I suspect, will be inherently biased simply because they know me.
A horde of strangers, on the other hand, is not encumbered by a need to protect my feelings. When they read my story and they find something that they don’t like about it, they will let me know…and in no uncertain terms. And this is what I’m counting on.
So there you have it. A manifesto, so to speak. An attempt at creating something solely for the entertainment and enjoyment of others.
